The gap between the Polish League leader and the perennial champion narrowed some this weekend as Asseco Prokom Gdynia routed Polonia Warszawa 40-63, while Energa Czarni Slupsk fell 92-104 to AZS Koszalin. Prokom now has the best winning percentage in the league with a 7-2 record, but Slupsk still boasts the most wins with a 10-3 mark. In a game that was defined by defense, Prokom pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Polonia. Filip Videnov paced the winners with 15 points and Dan Ewing added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Darnell Hinson scored 13 to lead Polonia. Koszalin pulled away in the third quarter to topple Slupsk. George Reese shined with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for Koszalin. Trefl Sopot and PGE Turow Zgorzelec both recorded their eighth wins of the season. In a battle of the last two Eurocup representatives from Poland, Turov bested Anwil Wloclawek 65-69 thanks to 23 points off the bench from Torey Thomas. Nikola Jovanovic produced 16 points and 8 boards for Anwil. Sopot stopped Kotwica Koklobrzeg 87-78 as Marcin Stefanski tallied 25 points. Siarka Tarnobrzeg and Polpharma Starogard were the other two victorious teams over the weekend in the Polish League.
