Kerem Tunceri - Efes Pilsen (efesbasket.org)Efes Pilsen edged archrival Fenerbahce Ulker 77-79 to win the first trophy of the Turkish basketball season, the 2010 Turkish President's Cup, on Wednesday in Istanbul. Igor Rakocevic sank a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to lift Efes to victory. It marked the ninth time Efes has lifted that title. Team captain Kerem Tunceri not only recieved the cup, but also starred with 18 points and 6 assists, while Lawrence Roberts added 14 points and 11 rebounds and Rakocevic scored 12 for the winners. Oguz Savas led FB Ulker with 18 points and Mirsad Turkcan and Omer Onan netted 14 each. It was all FB Ulker early as Neven Spahija’s men started 11-2 and led 28-15 after 10 minutes. Bostjan Nachbar teamed with Tunceri and Takocevic to revive Efes in the third quarter and set up an exciting finale.
