Maksym Pustozvonov - BC AzovmashBC Donetsk is the new leader atop the Ukrainian League standings with a 33-11 record. Budivelnik is right behind at 32-11 and defending champion Azovmash ranks third at 28-16. In the biggest game in this round, Azovmash edged Budivelnik 75-72 in Mariupol on Saturday. Ramel Curry and Maksym Pustozvonov paced the winners with 17 points apiece. Drago Pasalic added 14 while Fred House had 12 for Azovmash. Dee Spencer led Budivelnik with 17 points. Lamayne Wilson added 14, Billy Keys had 12 while Andy Betts got 12 for the guests, that trailed 49-43 after three quarters. Budivelnik rallied and Wilson tied the game, 53-53, with over 6 minutes left. Fred House and Pustozvonov took over in crunch time and free throws by Curry sealed the outcome, 69-61, with 50 seconds to go. In other games on Saturday, Hoverla edged Khimik 76-73 while Halychyna topped Odessa 98-89. On Thursday, Dnipro beat Kyiv 62-53, Hoverla downed Odessa 85-73 while Donetsk bested Mykolaiv 59-76 behind 15 points from Sasa Vasiljevic.
