Baltic League Final Four, semifinals: April 28, 2012
The giants of the Baltic League will meet for the title after Zalgiris Kaunas and Lietuvos Rytas won respective semifinal games Saturday. Zalgiris routed BC Siauliai 117-64, while Rytas took care of VEF Riga 61-89. Zalgiris scored the game’s first 12 points and never looked back. Paulius Jankunas paced Zalgiris with 21 points, Tadas Klimavicius tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds, Milovan Rakovic netted 13, Marko Popovic recorded 11 points and 6 assists and Tomas Delininkaitis had 11 points and 5 assists. Rashaun Broadus scored 14 to lead Siauliai. Rytas never trailed after getting out to a 7-20 start and proceeded to outscore Riga in each of the four quarters. Dovydas Redikas led Rytas with 16 points, Lawrence Roberts added 14 and Predrag Samardziski 12. Kaspars Berzins scored 11 for VEF.
