Belgacom Spirou Basket remained atop the Belgian League table and as its lone undefeated team following a 77-89 road win at Dexia Mons-Hainaut. Caleb Green led a balanced Spirou attack that featured seven scorers in double figures. The defending champs started strong and led 11-22 after 10 minutes, but Mons battled back and the fourth quarter began with the score knotted 57-57. However Spirou finished strong and celebrated a key win. Demond Mallet was sharp with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners, Chris Hill scored 13 and dished 5 assists and Jiri Welsch, Christophe Beghin and Justin Hamiltin netted 11 each. Ronell Taylor paced Mons with 19 points. Generali Okapi Aalstar is sitting in second place after routing Telenet BC Oostende 104-75. The game was close – 40-41 – at halftime, but it was all Aalstar after that. Chris Copeland dominated with 39 points for the winners. Jason Rich scored 19 and Chris Booker added a double-double for Oostende. In other games, Port of Antwerp Giants and Leuven Bears registered double-digit wins.
