Belgian League, Regular Season, Game 8: November 12, 2011
Defending champion Belgacom Spirou Charleroi enjoyed a bye in the Belgian League, but remains in first place with a 5-1 record. Dexia Mons-Hainaut and Telenet Oostende matched Spirou on victories at 5-2 with respective wins over Leuven and Antwerp. Mons handled Leuven Bears 86-76, as six players scored in double figures or the hosts led by Ronell Taylor's 17 points. Monta McGhee helped Leuven to a 22-27 lead after 10 minutes, but the hosts surged back to take the lead at halftime, 46-43. The game remained balanced until the fourth quarter, when defense made the difference for the hosts. Oostende dominated Antwerp 71-60 by taking a sizeable first quarter lead, 17-8, that it never relinquished. Big man Chris Booker was the main contributor for the winners with 13 points, Veselin Petrovic and Dusan Djordjevic added 12 apiece while Jason Rich had 10. Roel Moors led the losers with 14 points. In the two other games played, Gent took a thrilling 65-69 away win over Okapi Aalstar behind 14 points by Michael Haynes and 13 from Richard Chaney, while Liege got a comfortable 78-91 road victory over Verviers-Pepinster, led by 15 points apiece by Dominic Waters and Pierre-Antoine Gillet.
