In other games this week, Dexia Mons-Hainaut survived a 67-69 thriller on the road against Verviers Pepinster, while Telenet Oostende lost 56-64 at home against Optima Gent. Mons was losing 59-41 after 30 minutes, then tightened the defense and found easy points to spark a 21-8 run in the last 10 minutes to get the win. Ahmad Nivins scored 25 points with 6 rebounds to lead the visitors, while Ronell Taylor added 12. TJ Thompson had 21 for the losers. In the home debut for new coach Dario Gjergia, BC Oostende lost to Gent, which held on to a slim lead throughout, ending with a 56-64 win, led by 17 points by Michael Haynes. Oostende got 13 points apiece from Jason Rich and Chris Booker. Okapi Aalstar took a comfortable 76-62 win over Leuven Bears behind Jorn Steinbach and Chris Copeland, who scored 19 points each. Mons and Okapi are tied for second place with a 6-4 record.
