Demond Mallet led the way with 23 points plus 4 assists and 2 steals, Caleb Green added 15 points and Jiri Welsch 10. The game was very balanced with the score tied at 19-19 at the end of the first quarter and the hosts leading 44-39 at halftime. Mons stayed close and Spirou entered the fourth only up 57-56, but then hit the gas to go on a 15-0 run and take a 72-56 lead. The visitor’s Shan Foster nailed 3 triples in a row from to get back in, but Spirou held on. AJ Slaughter bagged 20 points for Mons and Quincy Taylor added 18 with 10 rebounds. Oostende raised its record to 7-5 by downing Okapi Aalstar 81-71, comfortably finishing off a game it led 44-31 at halftime. The winners had five players in double figures, led by Dragisa Drobnjak’s 20 points. In a low scoring game, Antwerp Giants took a 46-59 away win over Gent, paced by Michael Roll’s 16 points.
