Tornike Shengelia - Spirou CharleroiThe Belgian League finals will go the distance after Belgacom Spirou Basket beat Telenet BC Oostende 70-65 Tuesday evening to even their best-of-five series at 2-2. Demond Mallet scored 14 points, Toko Shengelia tallied 10 points and 9 rebounds and Chris Hill netted 10 off the bench to lead the defending champs, who dominated the fourth quarter to secure the come-from-behind win. After an even opening quarter saw Oostende grab a 16-18 lead, Spirou revved its offense and raced to a 43-34 halftime lead. Oostende countered in the third quarter with an awesome defensive effort to hold Spirou scoreless for over five minutes and to just 5 points for the quarter while building a 48-53 lead. Oostende held a 54-58 edge midway through the fourth quarter. It was 60-62 when Andre Riddick took over on the defensive end with a big block and a pair of crucial rebounds. Shengelia tied the game and the momentum shifted to the hosts who finished strong to claim the victory. Brent Wright scored 14 and Dusan Djordjevic 11 for Oostende, which hosts the final game of the series and season for both teams on Friday.
