With defending champion CEZ Basketball Nymburk’s game postponed, BK Decin and BK Prostejov took advantage with wins and climbed into sole possession of first place in the Czech League at 6-1. Decin smacked down BK Loko Interconex Plzen 79-49 led by Lubos Stria with 14 points and Pavel Houska with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Prostejov topped USK Praha 81-86 as Jaromir Bohacik scored half his team’s points in a 2-10 fourth quarter run that set the teams apart. Jamar Smith and Travis Peterson finished with 19 points apiece for the winners. Not far behind in the standings is BK JIP Pardubice at 6-2 following an 80-83 win at Turi Svitavy. Maurice Hampton scored 22 for the winners. In the high-scoring affair of the weekend, Stanislav Zuzak scored 26 and Richard Fields tallied 20 points and 10 boards as BC Kolin bested Levharti Chomutov 102-105.
