Defending champion CEZ Basketball Nymburk downed BK Prostejov 71-88 Friday in a rematch of last season’s Czech League finals to remain the team with the best record. Tre Simmons led six Nymburk scorers in double figures with 16 points as the champs improved to 7-1. Pavel Pumprla added 14 points and 7 rebounds and EJ Lawrence and Radek Necas scored 12 each. Meanwhile BK JIP Pardubice became the first team to 8 wins when it bested NH Ostrava 68-79. Corey Muirhead posted 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. BK Decin rolled SLUNETA Ustí nad Labem 95-65 behind Pavel Houska’s 22 points and BC Kolín bested BK Breda & Weinstein Opava 82-87 to stay among the leaders, both at 7-2. The other winners over the weekend were Turi Svitavy, Astrum Levice and Levharti Chomutov.
