BCM Gravelines and Chalon-sur-Saone both won to remain tied atop the French League with 18-3 records, while closest rival Paris-Levallois lost, joining a three-way tie for third place. Gravelines routed Asvel Basket 73-53 after breaking the game open by the end of the first half, 47-25. Ludovic Vaty led four scorers in double figures with 14 points, while J.R. Chalon outdueled Pau-Lacq-Orthez 64-74 as Malcom Delaney and Steed Tchicamboud each scored 15 points in a tough game that saw the visitors leading 40-37 at halftime. Chalon used an 8-16 third quarter to reclaim the lead, which it never gave back. Orleans rolled over Paris Levallois 85-61 after taking a 22-14 lead after the opening quarter and adding to it from there as five players scored in double figures, led by Brian Greene’s 15 points. SLUC Nancy battered Nanterre 81-59 behind a 23-6 first quarter run that effectively ended matters for the visitors. Victor Samnick scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Pape Amagou added 16 and Rob Kurz 13 for the hosts. Nancy, Paris and Orleans are now tied with 14-7 records. Le Mans downed Le Havre 88-67 to stay close with 13-8 record, led by Marcellus Sommerville and Rochestie Taylor, who tallied 18 points apiece. Cholet Basket defeated Hyeres-Toulon 94-72 behind 21 points by Patrick Christopher and 16 apiece by Fabien Causeur and DeMarcus Nelson, and Dijon took care of Poitiers 79-59 as Andre Harris posted 20 points for the winners. Roanne took a step towards the playoffs by edging Strasbourg 74-71 in a tightly fought contest from start to finish. Dylan Page nailed 18 points to help the hosts pull out the win.
