The status quo atop the German League remained intact as the top four teams in the standings picked up wins over the weekend. Defending champion Brose Baskets Bamberg cruised to a 97-66 win over Telekom Bonn for its 18th win against two losses this season. A 33-17 advantage after one quarter put the game away early. P.J. Tucker tallied 10 points and 9 rebounds, Tibor Pleiss scored 17 and Julius Jenkins 13 for the winners. ratiopharm Ulm trails Bamberg by a single victory after beating LTi Giessen 46ers 70-76. John Bryant paced the winners with 19 points and 8 boards. Artland Dragons sits third with a 15-5 record after beating EWE Baskets Oldenburg 95-81 on the strength of Nathan Peavy’s 23 points. Alba Berlin pulled away for a 73-61 win over TBB Trier. The game was knotted 56-56 midway through the fourth quarter before Bryce Taylor’s basket-plus foul put Berlin on top. Dru Joyce kept the visitors within 4 with two-and-a-half minutes to play, but Heiko Schaffartzik and Taylor scored the next 5 points to ice the win, which kept Berlin in fourth place at 14-6. DaShaun Wood paced the Albatross with 19 points, Taylor added 18 and Schaffartzik 14. Former Berliner Philip Zwiener led Trier with 19. BC Bayern Munich remained in the top half of the table by downing BG Goettingen 101-78 as Jared Homan posted 16 points and 10 rebounds. And EnBW Ludwigsburg spanked Fraport Skyliners 82-57 behind 28 points from Alex Harris.
