ratiopharm Ulm pounded Alba Berlin to grab sole possession of second place and to remain three wins behind defending champion Brose Baskets with three games to play in the German League. Ulm led by 13 by halftime and dominated the third quarter to go ahead by 25 en route to a 91-72 victory and a 25-6 record, while dropping Berlin to 24-7. Dane Watts scored 21 and Per Gunther added 14 points and 7 assists as all five Ulm starters scored in double figures. DaShaun Wood led Berlin with 18 points and 5 assists. Brose Baskets routed s.Oliver Baskets 83-67 after taking a 26-8 lead through 10 minutes. P.J. Tucker tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds and Brian Roberts netted 16 for the winners. Fraport Skyliners remained in the thick of the fight for a playoff spot by crushing Phoenix Hagen 92-57 behind Devin Gibson’s 16 points and 13 points plus 8 rebounds from Tim Ohlbrecht. FC Bayern Munchen jumped to fifth place at 19-12 with an 88-91 road win over New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig. Je'Kel Foster scored the go-ahead basket for Munich with 1:34 left, extended the lead to 86-89 with 2 free throws with seconds left and Jonathan Wallace helped ice the win with 2 more free throws. Wallace finished with 22 points and Foster had 20 for the winners.
