P.J. Tucker – Brose Baskets_000Brose Baskets Bamberg and ratiopharm Ulm chalked up important wins in the first games of their German League semifinals series. Bamberg dominated Artland Dragons 103-70, while Ulm bested s.Oliver Baskets 77-65. P.J. Tucked scored 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead seven Bamberg scorers in double figures on Saturday. Four different Brose Baskets players scored in a 9-2 first quarter run that made it 20-11 and the hosts never looked back. The lead was 11 after 10 minutes and 18 by halftime. Any doubts about the outcome were put to sleep with a 15-0 charge to start the fourth quarter as Bamberg made it look easy. Anton Gavel added 12 points and 7 assists and Julius Jenkins also scored 12 for the victors. Anthony King led the Dragons with 14 points. In Sunday’s game, a 14-0 Ulm run gave the hosts total control at 31-11 early in the second quarter, but the visitors closed within 39-33 by halftime and managed to tie it at b63-63 midway through the fourth. However Ulm finished the game with 11 unanswered points to rescue the victory. Per Gunther led Ulm with 16 points and 4 assists, while Chris Kramer tallied 22 points and 7 rebounds in defeat.
