David Logan - Panathinaikos_36660Olympiacos cruised to a comfortable 57-83 road victory over Ilissiakos in the Greek League regular season finale on Wednesday to clinch first place in the standings with a 23-1 record. Fellow Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four participant Panathinaikos finished second to the Reds with one win less. Kyle Hines posted 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead Olympiacos over Ilissiakos as it clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. The best-of-three quarterfinals begin April 18 with Olympiacos facing PAOK, Panathinaikos vs. Aris, Kolossos Rhodes vs. Kavala and Rethimno vs. Panionios. Olympiacos led 28-33 at halftime and used an 8-21 charge in the third quarter to secure an easy win over Ilissiakos. Marko Keselj scored 11 points, Lazaros Papadopoulos posted 10 points and 6 rebounds and Vangelis Mantzaris added 9 points. From Ilissiakos, Darryl Thompson tallied 19 points and Nikos Papanikolopoulos bagged 11. At OAKA, Panathinaikos thrashed Kolossos Rhodes 100-57 behind 22 points and 4 assists from David Logan. The Greens played without Dimitris Diamantidis, Aleks Maric and Romain Sato. Steven Smith posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, Ian Vougioukas had 14 points and 6 boards, Pat Calathes scored 12 points and Alexis Kyritsis added 10 points and 4 assists. For visiting Kolossos, Scottie Hopson netted 16 points and Angelos Tsamis had 14 points. In Peristeri, Aris had a 9-point lead after 10 minutes, but was outscored 21-9 in the second and suffered a 78-63 loss to the local team. Dimitris Tsaldaris bagged 15 points, while Ronald Davis and Sergio Kerusch got 8 points apiece for the Yellows. For Peristeri, Bosko Jovovic chipped in 23 points and Haris Giannopoulos posted 16 points and 7 boards. In other games Rethimno thrashed Drama 98-67 as with Brent Petway posted 25 points, 9 boards, 5 assists and 3 blocks, Kavala edged Panionios 75-68 as Christoforos Stefanidis posted 24 points, 4 boards and 4 assists and Ikaros Kallithea overwhelmed Maroussi 79-104 behind 19 points and 13 boards from Gaios Skordilis.
