Greek League playoffs, Semifinals Game 2: April 26, 2012

Olympiacos and Panathinaikos marched to comfortable wins Thursday to take 2-0 leads in their respective best-of-five Greek League semifinals series. Both go on the road Saturday with the chance to sweep and begin preparations early for their upcoming trips to Istanbul for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. Olympiacos mauled Panionios 90-65 behind 21 points and 7 assists from star guard Vassilis Spanoulis. Panathinaikos pounded Kolossos VAP led by Aleks Maric and Sarunas Jasikevicius. Olympiacos took care of business early as Pero Antic scored three times in a 19-0 start. The score sat at 27-6 after 10 minutes and Panionios never threatened the rest of the way. Martynas Gecevicius added 10 points as all 12 Reds that dressed scored a basket. Panathinaikos outscored Kolossos VAP in each quarter en route to a comfortable win. The Greens led by double figures during the first quarter, extended the margin to 51-33 by halftime and used a 9-0 third quarter run to end any remaining doubt. Maric paced the Greens with 16 points, Saras added 14 points and 7 assists and Pat Calathes netted 12.
