Israeli League, Regular Season, Game 4: November 6-7, 2011
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv remain in great shape in the Israeli League with an easy road win over Maccabi Ashdod to remain perfect, while Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem recovered from back-to-back losses with a road win to balance its record. Tel Aviv barely won its last two games in the Israeli League, but enjoyed a walk in the park on Sunday with a 103-74 victory over Ashdod to improve to 4-0. Lior Eliyahu led Maccabi with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists, Tal Burstein and David Blu scored 13 each and Guy Pnini added 11. Ramel Bradley had 18 in defeat. Jerusalem welcomed Dan Grunfeld to the tam and Brian Randle back from injury in a 79-85 road win at Barak Netanya. Randle led Hapoel with 21 points while D.J. Strawberry and Avery Bradley added 13 each. Adrian Banks led Netanya with 25 points. In a close game down the stretch, Strawberry nailed a key three-pointer and Randle produced big plays that gave Hapoel the much-needed win. In other action, Tony Skeen hit a 12 meter desperation shot at the buzzer to bestow Ironi Ashkelon an 80-77 home win over Maccabi Haifa. Marco Killingsworth filed 22 points for Ashdod against his former club. Maccabi Rishon Lezion smacked Bnei Hasharon/Herzelia 59-82 thanks to Brandon Bowman’s 19 points and Gilbao/Galil smashed Hapoel Holon 85-61 as six northerners scored between 10 and 15 points.
