Israeli League, Regular Season, Game 7: November 26-28, 2011
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv needed overtime to beat Bazan Haifa 79-84 and to jump back on the winning track in the Israeli League. Maccabi improved to 5-1 with the win. Haifa had a chance to win before the overtime, but missed its chance and saw Richard Hendrix stepped up in time and dominated the extra session. Hendrix scored 19 points – including 12 of Maccabi's 14 in overtime. Shawn James added 15 points and 11 rebounds and David Blu scored 13, including the shot that sent the game to overtime. Jermaine Jackson led Haifa with 20 points and Sylvan Landsberg added 17. Maccabi took an early 10 point lead, but Landsberg led the locals to a 30-26 lead midway in the second quarter and a 37-36 gap at the break. The teams stayed neck-to-neck in the second half, but when Tyler Wilkerson hit a three, Haifa had a 63-59 lead inside the last minutes. However Blu hit a two-pointer from the edge of the arc to make it 65-65 before Jackson missed a chance to win the game. Hendrix scored the first 6 points in the extra period and from there Maccabi didn't look back. Elsewhere around the league, BC Habikaa beat Eldan Ashkelon 93-74 led by Paul Delaney with 20 points and 9 assists. Maccabi Rishon Lezion improved to 3-3 after Joe Crawford scored 21 to lead his team to a 79-69 victory over Barak Netanya. Hapoel Holon scored a 93-84 win over Maccabi Ashdod behind 20 points by Ron Lewis. And Gilboa/Galil edged Bnei Hasharon 82-84 thanks to Chaisson Allen’s 24 points.
