The hosts used a 14-0 run that bridged the first and second halves to take the lead for good and hung on late after Siena clawed its way back within 1. Free throws by Omar Cook and Malik Hairston and a key offensive rebound by Antonis Fotsis all in the closing seconds ensured victory for Armani. The Series shifts to Siena for Game 5 on Sunday night, where Montepaschi gets its second shot and claiming the title. Ioannis Bourousis paced Milan with 19 points, Stefano Mancinelli netted 17, Nicolo Melli scored 11 and Hairston and Cook added 10 each. Bo McCalebb led Siena with 18 points, Ksistof Lavrinovic had 17 and Shaun Stonerook 11 in defeat. Montepaschi dominated the early stages as Stonerook buried a pair of threes in a 3-10 start and then a Marco Carraretto triple gave the visitors a double-digit lead at the end of the first quarter, 12-24. Melli scored 5 quick points to open the second quarter and Mancinelli and J.R. Bremer finished the half strong to draw Milan within 33-37 at the break. Fotsis scored twice and Omar Cook buried a triple in an 11-0 run to start the third quarter as Armani too the lead for the first time since the opening minute. David Andersen stepped up for Siena to keep the visitors close, but Milan remained strong and carried a 60-54 lead into the fourth quarter. Back-to-back threes by Alessandro Gentile and Mancinelli gave Armani a double-digit lead, 66-56, early in the fourth. Lavrinovic scored 5 straight points and McCalebb nailed a three to close the gap to 77-75 with three and a half minutes to go. Malik Hairston hit back from downtown to keep the hosts in control. The teams traded baskets on the ensuing possessions until a Stonerook three and Lavrinovic free throws got Siena within 84-83 in the final minute. In the end, Cook was fouled shooting a three; made the first 2 and missed the third. A key offensive rebound by Fotsis led to 2 more free throws for Hairston to wrap up the win.
