BC Rudupis took a thrilling 90-88 win over Lietuvos rytas on Saturday, handing the former Eurocup champions their first loss of the season in the Lithuanian League. Rudupis raised its record to 7-2, while Rytas is now 8-1. Dainius Salenga was the hero for the winners with 27 points and a perfect 5 for 5 from beyond the arc. Gediminas Orelik added 15 points, and Edgars Zelionis chipped in 10 with 8 boards. Tyrese Rice posted 20 points for the losers. The game was tied at 17-17 after 10 minutes, then Rytas made a big offensive push behind Rice and Lawrence Roberts to lead 34-44 at halftime. But the hosts came out on fire, taking off on a 21-4 run to lead 65-59 at the end of the third quarter. Rytas fought back to go up 70-71, then Rudupis took a 79-76 lead with three minutes left and held on for the big win. In other Saturday games, all the victories belonged to the visitors. Techasas beat Baltai 74-88 behind 19 points scored by Osvaldas Matiulonis. Neptunas Klaipeda grabbed a 73-81 win over Naglis, led by Martynas Mazeika, who bured 26 points. Pieno zvaigzdes eked out a thrilling 64-65 win against Sakalai, led by Sylvesteris Morganas, who had 18 points. Siauliai came away with a narrow 71-74 victory against Kedainiai Triobet, as Rashaun Broadus nailed 17 points to pace the winners.
