Zalgiris continued to pad its lead atop the Lithuanian League standings with two more wins over the weekend to improve to 14-0. The defending champs topped Kedainiai Triobet on the road 60-74 on Saturday and then routed Palanga 101-58 on Monday. Zalgiris scored the last 13 points of the first half to take a 26-43 lead into halftime against Kedainiai and never looked back. Mantas Kalnietis and Milovan Rakovic scored 13 points apiece and Dainius Salenga added 11 as all 10 Zalgiris players scored. Then Zalgiris led from start to finish in the blowout of Palanga. Rakovic scored 24 and Kalnietis added 14 points and 7 assists to lead the hosts. Lietuvos Rytas is even with Zalgiris on wins after downing Neptunas 85-91 on Sunday. Neptunas closed to within 2 points on five different occasions in the closing minutes, but Rytas responded with points on the ensuing possession each time and then Mindaugas Katelynas, Arturas Jomantas and Tyrese Rice went a combined 6 for 8 from the line in the final minute to ice the win. Jonas Valanciunas led five Rytas scorers in double figures with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and Rica tallied 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Martynas Mazeika led Neptunas with 19 points.
