Asseco Prokom Gdynia pounded Trefl Sopot 81-61 to take over first place in the Polish League for the first time this season. Since Prokom only joined the league from the start of the second session, the standings are determined by winning percentage. With the victory, Prokom improved to 4-1 for a .80 winning percentage, while Sopot dropped to 22-7 and a .759 mark. Prokom took a 24-14 lead after 10 minutes and put the game away early with a 27-12 third quarter. Donatas Motiejunas paced Prokom with 24 points, Przemyslaw Zamojski added 19 and Lukasz Seweryn netted 11 off the bench. John Turek led Sopot with 13 points. Meanwhile wins for PGE Turow Zgorzelec and Zastal Zielona Gora made the difference between third place and sixth place just one win. Turow topped Anwil Wloclawek 72-83 behind 18 points and 11 assists from Ronald Moore, while Gora handled Energa Czarni Slupsk 83-75 led by Walter Hodge’s 21 points and 8 assists.
