John Turek - Trefl Sopot (Photo: PLK)Trefl Sopot breathed new life in the Polish League finals by routing perennial champ Asseco Prokom Gdynia 83-57 to close within 1-2 in the best-of-seven series. John Turek compiled 18 points and 9 rebounds and Adam Waczynski posted 15 and 8 to pace the victors. The hosts started out strong by scoring the game’s first 6 points, upped their lead to double figures after eight minutes of game time and coasted to 26-14 through one quarter. The lead continued to swell and reached 21 late in the second quarter before Prokom clawed its way to 47-30 at halftime. But the tough Sopot defense limited the visitors to 12 third-quarter points in stamping the game long before the final buzzer. Lukasz Koszarek and Filip Dylewicz also scored 15 apiece for the inning side. Donatas Motiejunas paced Prokom with 11 points in defeat.
