Both teams now have 8-1 records. Madrid won handily by taking a 30-45 lead after 20 minutes and giving the hosts no opportunity to get back in. Jaycee Carroll knocked down 30 points and Serge Ibaka added 15, while Sergio Rodriguez continued to pile up assists with 6 more. Zargoza got 23 points from Bracey Wright. Barcelona regained its focus in the fourth quarter, outscoring the hosts 19-29 to eke out the win, but Blusens battled hard, going up 59-47 in the third before Barca came back. The visitors secured the victory in the last two minutes on scores by CJ Wallance, Pete Mickeal and Marcelinho Huertas. Juan Carlos Narvarro paced Barcelona with 22 points and Wallace posted 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ebi Ere scored 18 for Blusens in defeat. In an all-Euroleague matchup, Unicaja stayed one win behind the leaders by taking out Caja Laboral 79-66 at home on Saturday night, as it outrebounded the visitors 45-32 to secure the win. Luka Zoric buried 17 points to lead the winners, who also got 14 points and 7 assists from Kristaps Valters. Caja Laboral was led by Kevin Seraphin’s 16 points plus 12 from Pau Ribas. With the loss, Caja Laboral dropped to 6-3 and joined Valencia Basket and Lucentum Alicante in a three-way tie for fourth. Gescrap Bizkaia held off a fourth-quarter comeback by Asefa Estudiantes to win 72-66 at home on Sunday night. Bilbao, which now has a 4-5 record, dominated the game early, but turned cold in the final 10 minutes when it scored only 10 points. The hosts got 15 points from Aaron Jackson and Roger Grimau added 14. Rodrigo De La Fuente had 13 in defeat. Valencia upended Assignia Manresa 75-67 at home on Saturday night, led by its duo under the boards of Nik Caner-Medley and Tiago Splitter, who contributed 17 and 15 points, respectively. Nando De Colo had 15 points as well for the winners, who ran away with the game on an 18-6 fourth quarter. Justin Doellman led the way for the losers with 12 points. Lucentum returned to its winning ways by using a strong fourth quarter to beat Lagun Aro 68-71 on the road in Sunday night. The visitors got 22 points from Kyle Singler. Fuenlabrada outfought Cajasol Banca Civica on the road on Sunday night in an epic contest that went into overtime, 97-99, behind Gustavo Ayon’s 34 points on 15 of 16 from two-point range, along with 11 rebounds. Cajasol forced the overtime, but Fuenlabrada’s 4 points in overtime were enough to eke out the win. The hosts were led by Paul Davis with 27 points. Both teams are now tied with 5-4 records. In another overtime thriller, Gran Canaria 2014 beat FIATC Mutua Joventut 77-71 at home on Sunday night as Michael Bramos scored 23 points to lift the hosts, who outscored their opponents 15-9 in the extra session.
