Spanish King's Cup quarterfinals, Day 1: February 16, 2012
Milko Bjelica - Caja LaboralFC Barcelona Regal and Caja Laboral became the first semifinalists at the Spanish King’s Cup on Thursday. Barcelona spanked Lucentum Alicante 75-54 in the nightcap after Laboral beat Lagun Aro GBC 72-65. The trio of Milko Bjelica, Mirza Teletovic and Pablo Prigioni starred for Laboral. Bjelica scored 22 points, Teletovic amassed 17 points and 8 rebounds and Prigioni accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Lagun Aro held a 28-38 halftime lead, but things went south when Prigioni and Bjelica got going. A 27-11 third quarter put Laboral ahead, though Lagun Aro kept it close until the closing minutes. Andy Panko made it 59-58 midway through the fourth quarter, however Bjelica was hot down the stretch to seal the win. Jimmy Baron paced Lagun Aro with 22 points. Barcelona simply dominated Lucentum as its defense never allowed more than 13 points in the first three quarters. Erazem Lorbek carried the offensive load with 17 points, Xavi Rabaseda scored 16 on 4-of-6 three-point shooting and Juan Carlos Navarro and Boni Ndong netted 10 each. Pedro Llompart led Alicante with 14 points.
