Dutch League, Regular Season, Game 7: November 9-12, 2011
GasTerra Flames Groningen downed Zwolle on the road 64-74 to raise its record to 7-2 to stay atop the Dutch League table. David Bell led the way with 21 points, Alex Wesby hit 19, Jason Dorisseau had 11 with 6 steals and Avis Wyatt added 10 with 11 rebounds. Cameroon Wells was the leading scorer for Zwolle with 14 points. The hosts took a slim 13-9 margin at the end of the first quarter, but the 2011 Dutch Cup winners slipped in front at the half, 28-29. The difference was made in the thirrd quarter, as the guests built a 41-50 cushion entering the final 10 minutes. Zwolle cut the lead to 50-55, but GasTerra kept them at arm’s length to take the win. Den Bosch took a thrilling 84-86 road win over Nijmegen, on Thursday, thanks to a game-winning shot by Kees Akerboom. Tai Weslej led the visitors with 19 points, and Stefan Wessels set a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. On Saturday, Nijmegen got a road win over Rotterdam, 80-85, thanks to a 8-21 run in the last quarter. Markel Humphrey had scoring 'honors for the winners with 21 points. The hosts were led by Daniel Jones’s 26 points and Tyrone Sally’s 25. Also on Saturday, Damon Huffman bagged 20 points and Nikki Hulzebos added 17 to lead Zwolle to a comfortable 86-70 win against Leeuwarden, while Leiden pulled out an exciting 80-82 win against Den Bosch, led by Seamus Boxley who had 22 points, including the game-winner with 8 seconds left in the game.
