GasTerra Flames held off Rotterdam’s late challenge for a 56-59 victory to become the Dutch League’s first 17-game winner. However Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden bested Landstede Zwolle 64-74 to remain hot on GasTerra’s heels. The Flames dominated early and led 18-34 by halftime, but Rotterdam rallied all the way back to tie the game at 56-56. GasTerra regained the lead on a Bryan Defares free throw and after denying Leon Williams, who tried to give Rotterdam its first lead, Defares scored on the offensive glass with 4 seconds left and when Tyrone Sally missed from downtown at the buzzer, the win was GasTerra’s. Jason Dourisseau and Alex Wesby led the winners with 14 points each, while Defares finished with 5. Sally led Rotterdam with 19 points. ZZ Leiden got 14 points from Patrick Hillman and 11 from Jevohn Shepherd in its win over Zwolle as it improved to 16-4. And EiffelTowers Den Bosch remains close to the top at 15-6 following a 71-86 win over Lasaulec Aris.
