Furkan Aldemir - GalatasarayAnadolu Efes and Galatasaray Medical Park won to remain undefeated in the Turkish League, but defending champion Fenerbahce Ulker slipped into a four-way tie for fourth place after losing 83-78 to Besiktas Milangaz. Besiktas joined Efes and Galatasaray at 4-0. Anadolu Efes outdueled Eurocup side Banvit 84-76 as Eran Ilyasova netted 21 points and Tarance Kinsey added 15. Galatasaray took the early lead and won handily on the road against Hacettepe Univ. 68-86 led by Furkan Aldemir’s 17 points and Preston Shumpert’s 15. For Besiktas the hero of its win was Deron Williams with 21 points on 5-of-9 three-point shooting. Turk Telecom stayed one win behind the leaders by outslugging Pinar Karsiyaka 98-110 as Michael Wright buried 27 points and Darius Washington put in 24. Tofas won at home against Olin Edirne 68-57 led by Bradley Buckman’s 19 points, while Mersin Bsb. dominated the second half to win on the road against Bandirma Kirmizi 63-77 behind Anthony Grundy’s game-leading 20 points. Erdemir and Aliaga Petkim also both won. Three teams – Antalya, Trabzonspor and Bandirma – remain without a victory thus far.

Efes got the better of Banvit 84-76 by outscoring the visitors 21-15 in the fourth quarter. Eran Ilyasova scored 21 points and Tarance Kinsey added 15 to pace the winners. The two also led the team in rebounds, with 7 each. Banvit got 21 points from Charles Davis and 19 from Serkan Erdogan. Galatasaray dominated Hacettepe from the start and never let up, winning 68-86 on the road. Furkan Aldemir led the team in both points and rebounds, with 17 points and 9, respectively, while Preston Shumpert knocked down 15 points and Jaka Lakovic added 14. Dominance in the paint was the decisive factor for Galatasaray, which outrebounded the hosts, 30-37.

In a battle of undefeated teams, Besiktas knocked Fenerbache Ulker from the top of the standings, led by Deron Willliams’s 21 points and Marcelus Kemp’s 19. The hosts shot 45% from three-point range, hitting 10 of 22, compared with the visitors’ 28%, which played a key role in the victory. Fenerbahce got 16 points apiece from Roko Leni Ukic and Oguz Savas.
