Vule Avdalovic - BC Donetsk (photo Olexiy Naumov)Donetsk caught up to Budivelnik for a share of first place in the Ukrainian League after stopping third placed Khimik 92-84 on Thursday night. Vule Avdalovic shined with 20 points and 8 assists and Ramel Curry also scored 20 to pace Donetsk, which is now 16-5. The game was quite close for three-plus quarters and a Predrag Miletic basket made it 65-69 for the visitors early in the fourth quarter. Soon a Curry triple broke a 71-71 tie and Maksym Pustozvonov extended the advantage to 8 midway through the fourth. Dmytro Gliebov soon made it a double-digit lead and Donetsk held on the rest of the way. Ivan Radenovic added 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Rayshawn Terry paced Khimik with 29 points and 9 rebounds. Meanwhile Azovmash took advantage by beating Dnipro 71-64 to close the gap on Khimik for third place. Daniel Ewing led the way with 17 points and 9 assists and Azovmash improved to 13-9. Dnipro led by 3 with two-and-a-half minutes to play, but the hosts finished the game on a 13-3 tear to chalk up the win.
