BC Donetsk started the Ukrainian League finals on the right foot by downing Azovmash Mariupol 83-66. Viacheslav Kravtsov scored 16 and Michael Lee added 15 to pace Donetsk. Dmytro Gliebov scored half the Donetsk points in a 10-2 first quarter run that saw the hosts take a 27-21 lead through 10 minutes. The Donetsk advantage remained at or near double figures for the second quarter and much of the third until an Artur Drozdov triple carried Azovmash within 51-47. A Ramel Curry three-pointer kept Donetsk in control, 60-52, after three quarters and a 10-1 start to the fourth buried the visitors. Vule Avdalovic contributed 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. Othello Hunter and Oleksіy Pecherov scored 13 points apiece for Azovmash.
