The defending champions of Telenet Oostende took a thrilling 71-68 win over Veirviers-Pepinster to start the 2012-13 Belgian League season on the right note again. Matt Lojeski had 17 points to lead his side, Mario Stojic bagged 16 and Wesley Wilkinson added 10 while Jeremy Green drilled 25 for the guests. Okapi Allastar took a huge 82-65 win over last season’s runner-up, Spirou Charleroi, with five players scoring in double figures led by 19 points of John Tofi. Matt Walsh nailed 20 and Derrick Allen 15 with 10 rebounds for Charleroi. In other results, Leuven defeated Liege 78-67 as Niels Marnergrave drained 15 points. Two semifinalists from last season, Antwerp and Mons-Hainaut, will meet in their dual opener on Monday night.
