Nanterre Champ french league 2012-13 (photo lnb.fr)JSF Nanterre is the French League champion for the first time in its history, after 83-77 win over SIG Strasbourg in Game 4 of the best-of-five final series. The title earns Nanterre a place in the 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague. The playoffs finals MVP David Lighty paced the winners with 21 points, Jeremy Nzeulie netted 17, Chris Warren added 13 and Marc Judith contributed with 10. Romain Duport scored 19 points for Strasbourg, Ricardo Greer bagged 15, while Alexis Ajinca and Jeff Greer posted 12 apiece. Strasbourg led early, free throws from Louis Campbell gave it 9-19 late in the first quarter, but a huge 13-0 run capped from downtown by Judith, put the home team in front 22-19. Another 11-4 spurt from Nanterre, highlighted by five points by Nzeulie, raised the difference to double-figures, 33-23, before Duport cut it to 40-36, dunking seconds before the halftime buzzer. The visitors remained close throughout the third quarter until back-to-back baskets by Nzeulie and Warren gave Nanterre a 59-51 margin. Warren raised the cushion from long distance to 65-51 early in the last quarter, but the visitors didn't give up. Duport's short jumper capped a 5-17 Strasbourg run, making it 70-68 with less than four minutes left. However, Stephen Brun and Lighty scored three-pointers to keep the lead, 76-68, forcing the guests to call a time out. Brun then hit a jumper for 78-70, and after the visitors scored only two of their four free throws, Warren sealed Nanterre's victory from the free throw line.
