Eurocup representative Budivelnyk cruised to 80-75 win over Halychyna to remain the only undefeated team in Ukrainian League. Budivelnyk took control of the game early, jumping out to 16-4 advantage, but barley held on to their lead in the last 30 seconds. Darrel Mitchell brought Halychyna within 75-73 with 27 seconds to go, but the same player missed a three-pointer 12 seconds later to tie the game. Leo Lyons sealed the deal from the free throw line and was Budivelnyk’s top scorer with 17 points. Malcolm Delaney had 13, Georgi Tsintsadze contributed with 11 and Artur Drozdov chipped in 10 points and 9 boards. Vladan Vukosavljevic led Halychyna with 20 points and 12 rebounds while Mitchell finished with 18. Khimik Yuzny climbed up to second place by downing so far unbeaten Zaporozhye 87-79. Sava Lesic went 12 for 12 from charity stripe and finished the game with 27 points and 12 rebounds in victory. Randy Culpeper scored 27 in defeat. BC Kyiv remained the only winless team in the league losing at home to Hoverla 69-81. Patrick Petterson scored 18 and Ryan Pearson 17 for visitors while Vyacheslav Bobrov led Kyiv with 20 points. Vitali Malchevskiy had 20 points and 10 rebounds in Kryvbasbasket’s 69-78 win over Odessa. Hosts had Hernst Laroche with an all-round effort of 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
