Steponas Babrauskas - Lietuvos Rytas - EB 2012-13Turkish Airlines Euroleague teams all recorded wins on second week of VTB League action. Lietuvos Rytas recorded its first win of the competition, downing Samara 81-70 despite 18-35 second- quarter deficit. Rytas cut the margin to 9 points by the halftime, and then opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run that gave them their first lead of the game 45-44. Nemanja Nedovic sparked 8-0 run at the end of the third quarter that put Rytas up 62-54 and traced their way to victory. Steponas Babrauskas led Rytas with 13 points and Renaldas Seibutis scored 12 while Samara had Chester Simmons score 31 points, but fell short. Zalgiris Kaunas needed some stellar defense in overtime to beat Triumph 80-76. Ksistof Lavrinovic was team's top scorer with 20 points, Tremmell Darden had 16 points and 9 boards, while Oliver Lafayette also scored 16. Yuvai Naimy netted 27, including 7 three-pointers, and dished out 6 assists in defeat. BC Khimki Moscow Region recorded a routine 79-86 win at Turow with Sergey Мonya scoring 17 points on 4 for 7 three-point shooting and Kelvin Rivers chipping in 15. Defending champions CSKA Moscow had an easy job against Enisey. All 12 players managed to score in 77-52 win with Drew Nicholas leading the way with 14 points. Contest between Eurocup contenders Uniks Kazan and Spartak St Peterburg went visitor’s way. In Spartak’s 51-52 win, Loukas Mavrokefalidis scored 12 while Terrell Lyday and Chuck Eidson each had 13 in defeat. The other All-Eurocup tie went CEZ Nymburk’s way as they beat Lokomotiv Kuban 81-74 behind 25 points on 6 for 12 three-point shooting from Adrian Abrams. Aleks Maric led Lokomotiv with 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Nick Calathes also scored 16 in defeat. VEF Riga got to 2-0 record with 60-86 drubbing at Klaipeda thanks in part to an all-round effort from E.J Rowland who had 21 points shooting field goals 10 for 12 and adding 8 rebounds and 6 assists to his tally.
