Perhaps for the first time in a single program, the newest edition of the Euroleague Basketball Clinic, "Three of a Kind", brings together a trio of Europe's greatest coaches ever to offer their knowledge, style and understanding of basketball to other coaches around the world.

With the addition of Zeljko Obradovic, the most-crowned coach in European club history and current Euroleague champion with Panathinaikos, the third edition of the Clinic organized by the Euroleague Basketball Institute has managed to unite three of the most advanced and winning philosophies in European basketball. Ettore Messina and Aito Garcia Reneses, the professors in the previous editions of the Clinic, will join Obradovic to complete a lineup that guarantees the maximum level of both technical and educational expertise.

As in the previous editions, the Clinic will consist of two parts: on-line courses that run from February 15 to June 9, 2010, followed by an on-court session with all three coaches from June 23 to 26 in Barcelona, Spain.

Interested coaches and students may sign up now for the independent sessions that each of these basketball masters will offer on-line. Each coach has prepared a course that will consist of approximately 25 lessons and cover all aspects of the game: team-building, defense, offense, fastbreaks, transition, zones, pick-'n'-roll, etc.. All the details of what each coach plans to offer in his on-line course may be found now on www.euroleague.net.

In the final, hands-on session in Barcelona, the three coaches will alternate giving master classes on the court and will prepare those lessons based on themes requested by the students themselves through a survey that will involve all the course participants.

Find all the details concerning enrolment, dates, program and more may be found on www.euroleague.net

This year's Clinic, Three of a Kind, forms part of the activities organized by the Euroleague Basketball Institute, which also develops, together with Ca'Foscari University in Venice, Italy, the Master of Sports Communications and Marketing (Masmacom) that this year celebrates its fourth edition.

Comments on Three of a Kind Clinic

Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu

Jordi Bertomeu"Once more I would like to express my deep appreciation for the remarkable hard work and commitment that Zeljko, Ettore and Aito have shown us by placing their expert knowledge at our disposal and that of all the coaches who will participate in the third edition of this innovative endeavor. The success of the previous two editions gives us an enormous sense of satisfaction and inspires us to continue working to ensure that the great quality of our European coaches reaches to all corners of the globe."

Panathinaikos head coach Zeljko Obradovic

Zeljko Obradovic - Panathinaikos"I'm looking forward with a lot of excitement to my participation in this new type of clinic for basketball coaches. It's a system that breaks barriers and frontiers by allowing coaches from all over the world an opportunity to know our way of understanding basketball and of putting that knowledge into practice with our teams. I believe the Euroleague has created a pioneering model of a clinic that is very interesting for promoting European basketball."

Unicaja head coach Aito Garcia Reneses

Aito Garcia Reneses"Last year, all of us - coaches and students - had an incredible experience that I hope to repeat and improve upon in this new edition. The possibility of working with coaches from everywhere in the word and to exchange opinions and very different ways of seeing and understanding basketball was truly thrilling. For the on-line part of the course, I have already made some small modifications in order to improve and update some of the lessons I gave last year."

Real Madrid head coach Ettore Messina

Ettore Messina - Real Madrid"This will my third time participation in this Clinic, which fulfills a double-function which makes it unique in the world, alternating lessons on-line with a final session on the court, which allows us to go much deeper into the concepts that we discuss. I think that it's very interesting to have Zeljko Obradovic join this Clinic. His presence will allow the students to get a new and highly productive viewpoint on European basketball."
