ASVEL BASKET re-signs Foirest, Jeanneau
Aymeric Jeanneau - Asvel BasketNewly crowned French champion Asvel Basket Villeurbanne has begun working on its roster for the coming season in which it will return to the Euroleague by re-signing guards Laurent Foirest and Aymeric Jeanneau. Foirest and Jeanneau were core members of the club this past season. The veteran Foirest (197, 35) will mark his fourth season with Asvel next year. The swingman also brings valuable Euroleague experience with him having spent six seasons in Europe's signature competition and played a total of 84 Euroleague games for Tau Ceramica and Pau Orthez in which he averaged 10.6 points per game. Last season Foirest posted 7.7 points in six Eurocup games and 9.5 points and 2.9 assists in the French League. Foirest, who began his career at Olympique Antibes Basket, has won the French League six times in his career and the Spanish championship once. He also owns a silver medal from the 2000 Olympic Games with the French national team.

Jeanneau (187, 30) also signed for a fourth season with Asvel. He returns to the Euroleague for the first time since the 2005-06 campaign when he averaged 5.3 points and 3.4 assists for SIG Strasbourg. Last season he was among the Eurocup leaders with 4.2 assists per game in the regular season and he averaged 5.5 points and 4.5 assists in the French League. Jeanneau began his career with Cholet Basket and has also played for STB Le Havre and Strasbourg before joining Asvel. Among his career highlights are two French championships and three French Cups.
