CIBONA signs scoring guard Antonio Graves
Antonio Graves (Photo: FIBAEurope.com)Cibona Zagreb added a high-scoring force to its backcourt Thursday with the signing of Antonio Graves. The guard arrives from Galatasaray Café Crown, for whom he averaged 15.4 points and 2.1 assists per game in the Turkish League last season. Graves (191, 24) was also good for 14.4 points and 3 assists per game in the EuroChallenge. This will be Graves’s third season in Europe after starting his career overseas in France with Pau-Orthez during the 2007-08 campaign. He was the French League’s runner-up in scoring when he averaged 20.4 points on 43.5% three-point shooting in 18 French League games that season. Graves also had a 40-point performance in a road win against Asvel Basket, a team he will meet this season in Euroleague Regular Season Group A with Cibona. Graves had a successful college basketball career at the University of Pittsburgh and was named to the Big East Conference All-Tournament Team after his senior season.
