Bryan Bailey joins EWE Baskets OldenburgWith the knowledge that its starter will be sidelined four more weeks, EWE Baskets Oldenburg has signed a replacement point guard, Bryan Bailey, for the same length of time. Bailey (185, 29) has played the last seven seasons in Europe, four of them in Germany. Last season, he played with PGE Turow Zgorzelec of Poland, averaging 7.3 points and 3.2 assists in 6 Eurocup games. The season before that, he helped Bosna of Bosnia-Herzegovina reach the Last 32 of the Eurocup by averaging 10.3 points, 4.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds over 12 games. His pro career started at Wurzburg in Germany and included three seasons, from 2004 to 2007, with Artland Dragons. Bailey will help offset the loss of injured point guard Jason Gardner, who will be out another month, the club said in its announcement. Oldenburg won its Euroleague debut on the road, but has since picked up three consecutive losses in regular season Group D, including a 43-point home defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in Week 4.
