POWER ELECTRONICS inks coach Hussein
Manolo Hussein - Power Eelectronics ValenciaPower Electronics named Manuel Hussein as its new head coach. Hussein, 47, agreed to a two-year deal with the reigning Eurocup champion. He replaced Neven Spahija, who resigned last week. Hussein, who did not coach last season, was last at the helm of CB Murcia for four consecutive seasons from 2005-09. He led Murcia to the Spanish second division cup and promotion to the Spanish elite in 2006. He managed to keep Murcia in the Spanish League for three straight seasons. Hussein has also coached Alerta Cantabria Lobos, Ciudad Algeciras, Caceres and Gran Canaria. He made his Spanish League debut in February 1990. Power Electronics represents his first chance to coach in the Euroleague, though he did lead Gran Canaria in the 2001 Korac Cup qualifying rounds. "I am very proud to be here and would like to highlight that this is a great opportunity for me. I have always worked for clubs with different possibilities, but challenges are made to be taken. This is a step forwards in my career," Hussein said. "I arrive to the right place at the right time. Being humble cannot stop us from being ambitious. Only nonconformity can prevent you from being ambitios and we won't lose the chance to take step forwards. I feel lucky and privileged becayse I think this is the greatest opportunity in my career."
