Kadir (202, 23) arrives from Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon, with whom he defeated Maccabi in the title game last month to win the Israeli League championship. The forward capped a breakthrough season with 11 points and 6 rebounds in the title game. He grew up in the Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan junior program before spending four seasons with the senior team until 2007-08, when he continued the path of many Israeli prospects and went to play for Galil. In his debut season there, Kadir scored 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds. Last season he burst out with 14 points and 6 boards in addition to the championship.

"I'm very happy to have reached this time and place," Kadir said after signing. "It's something you dream about as a child and now it's a reality. I had an amazing season with Gilboa/Galil and I'll never forget that place. I'm happy to start something new and good now with Maccabi. I hope to contribute a lot, and be a key part in the system here."

"I am very happy about this signing," Maccabi head coach David Blatt said. "Together with Tal Burstein, we have significantly upgraded the quality of the Israelis on our team and that was one of our main goals. Elishay is one of the most talented players in Israel. He has an addictive personality and I am certain that he can reach the highest levels. Elishay is a player that from his very first day playing basketball never feared anyone and because of that and his talent he has come to Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv and I am certain that he won’t back down from any challenge for Maccabi in the Israeli League nor in the Euroleague."
