Krzysztof Szubarga – Poland (Photo: FIBAEurope.com/Castoria)Polish champion Asseco Prokom Gdynia signed Polish national team point guard Krzysztof Szubarga on Friday, making him the club's first new addition for the 2010-11 season. Szubarga (178, 26) arrives from Anwil Wloclawek, where he averaged 11.2 points and a Polish-League-best 6.8 assists per game last season. He was a major reason Anwil reached the Polish League finals, where it lost to Prokom. Szubarga has played his entire professional career in his native Poland, appearing for Polpak Swiecie, Sportino Inowroclaw, Polonia Warszawa, Atlas Stal Ostrow and Anwil. He was Poland’s starting playmaker at EuroBasket 2009, where he averaged 4 points and 3 assists in 19 minutes per game.

"Krzysztof is hard working and ambitious player," Prokom head coach Tomas Pacesas said. "He play tough and that is important for us. By joining our team, Krzysiek will have a chance to play with and against the best in Europe. I am happy that we signed him, because he was the only Polish League player that we talked to, which gives us 100% success in negotiations."
