BROSE BASKETS keeps Goldsberry
John Goldsberry - Brose BasketsGerman League champion Brose Baskets reached a new agreement with playmaker John Goldsberry to extend his contract until the end of the 2011-12 season, the club announced Monday. Goldsberry (191, 27) averaged 5.3 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 11 Eurocup games last season. He helped Brose to reach the Eurocup Last 16 and win the German League and the German Cup titles. Goldsberry previously played for Artland Dragons and Bayer Giants Leverkusen in Germany before arriving to Bamberg in summer 2008. He helped Artland to win the German Cup title in 2008. "John provides many good things and runs the team really well. His contribution cannot always be measure with stats, but I think that the fact that he won two German Cup and a German League titles in the last three seasons speak for itself," Brose head coach Chris Fleming said. "I am pleased that we can keep the core of players that built this team in the last two years. Bamberg is a great basketball city."
