PARTIZAN extends Dusan Kecman
Dusan Kecman - PartizanOne of the signature players in Partizan Belgrade's incredible run to last season's Final Four is returning to lead the club again as former Euroleague champion Dusan Kecman has signed a new one-year contract with the Serbian champs. Kecman (32, 197) averaged 9.6 points over 22 Euroleague games last season, including some of the biggest shots that allowed Partizan to march to its first Final Four in a decade while entertaining legions of fans in Belgrade and beyond. Partizan and Kecman ended the 2009-10 season with three trophies, too: the Adriatic League, the Serbian League and the Radivoj Korac Cup. In the case of the Adriatic League, Kecman made one of the greatest shots ever - 16 meters from the opposite foul line on the buzzer - to steal the final game and the trophy. Kecman started his career in IMT and moved to FMP Zeleznik in 2001. A year later he become member of Partizan, with whom he won two Serbian championship titles. He moved to Makedonikos, Efes Pilsen, Oostende and Kiev before returning for two more seasons in Partizan and winning two more domestic titles. For the 2008-09 season, Kecman joined Panathinaikos, where he added the Euroleague, Greek League and Greek Cup titles to his trophy case in one season. Last season, Kecman returned to Partizan for a third stint which proved truly inspiring as he helped a young team survive major challenges to dethrone Panathinaikos and thrill fans everywhere with an improbable but truly deserved march to the Final Four, where Partizan lost both games in overtime, but was arguably the most entertaining team not to win in the history of the event.
