ASSECO PROKOM re-signs Jagla
Jan Jagla celebrates - Asseco ProkomPerennial Polish champion Asseco Prokom Gdynia retained another key piece from last season’s squad by re-signing big man Jan-Hendrik Jagla for another season. Jagla (213, 29) averaged 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 20 Euroleague games last season as a key reserve for Prokom, helping the club reach the Euroleague Quarterfinal Playoffs for the first time. He rose to the occasion for big games, posting 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals in a Top 16 win over CSKA Moscow and later netted 10 points and 9 rebounds in Prokom’s lone quarterfinals victory over Olympiacos. In the Polish League, Jagla recorded 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds in 36 appearances. A native of Germany, Jagla played college basketball at Penn State University and has since played professionally for Panellinios in Greece, Artland Dragons in Germany, Basquetinca and DKV Joventut in Spain and Turk Telekom Ankara in Turkey. Among his career highlights are winning the ULEB Cup and the Spanish King's Cup in 2008 with Joventut and winning the Polish league last season. As a member of the German national team, Jagla has competed at the 2006 World Championships, the 2008 Olympic Games and at EuroBasket 2007 and ’09.
