Doron Perkins - Maccabi ElectraMaccabi Electra Tel Aviv and playmaker Doron Perkins reached a new agreement to stay together next season, the club announced Sunday. Maccabi retains an option to extend the deal until the end of the 2011-12 season. Perkins (189, 27) arrived to Maccabi last season, in which he averaged 9.2 points, 5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 20 Euroleague games, helping the team reach the Quarterfinal Playoffs. He boosted his numbers up to 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds in four playoff games against Partizan. Perkins is set to play his third consecutive season in Israel. Perkins previously played college basketball for Santa Clara University before signing his first professional deal with Japanese powerhouse Toyota Alvark. He joined EWE Baskets Oldenburg in Germany in the summer of 2006 and moved to Belgian side Euphony Bree the following season, where he led the competition in assists and steals.

"Everybody saw Perkins's abilities last season and I am very happy he is staying with us," head Coach David Blatt said. "Perkins and Jeremy Pargo complement each other and can play together. They give us an exceptional, athletic backcourt with two strong guards who like to attack the rim and play great defense. Perkins the sixth player we keep from last season and it is great that half of the team is staying for the second year in a row. With the new players we signed, all very highly motivated, I am sure we will have a great team."
