PROKOM picks up scoring guard Giddens
J.R. Giddens (Photo: NBA.com)Asseco Prokom Gdynia added more scoring punch to an already deep backcourt by signing shooting guard J.R. Giddens for the coming season. Giddens (196, 25) arrives after playing two seasons in the NBA with Boston and New York. Last season he appeared in 21 games for Boston and 11 for New York, averaging 2.1 points per game. He also spent time on loan last season with Maine in the NBDL, where Giddens produced 18 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Giddens played college basketball for the University of Kansas and later for the University of New Mexico, where he was named the 2008 Mountain West Conference co-Player of the Year. Prokom will be his first team in Europe.
