POWER ELECTRONICS brings Pietrus back
Florent Pietrus - Power Electronics ValenciaPower Electronics Valencia brought back a member of its 2010 Eurocup championship squad by signing forward Florent Pietrus to a two-month contract. Pietrus (202, 29) arrives from Caja Laboral, for whom he signed a one-moth deal as an injury replacement at the start of the season. He appeared in three Spanish League games for Laboral this season, averaging 4 points and 6.7 rebounds in 18 minutes. Pietrus played for Valencia for two seasons between 2008 and 2010. He averaged 2.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in the Eurocup last season, providing a defensive presence that was key to the team’s success. With Valencia, he returns to the Euroleague for the first time since playing at the 2007 Final Four in Athens with Unicaja. He has also played for Estudiantes in Spain and Pau-Orthez in France. Pietrus helped Pau to win three French League and two French Cup titles from 2001 to 2004. In three seasons with Unicaja, he won the 2005 Spanish King's Cup and the 2006 Spanish League titles. Pietrus is also a regular member of the French national team, for whom he competed at the 2010 World Championships in Turkey. He helped France win the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2005.
