MADRID adds backcourt depth with Fisher
Josh Fisher Real Madrid reached an agreement with combo guard Josh Fisher on the signing of a three-month contract on Wednesday night. Fisher (189, 29) helps add dept to the backcourt with playmaker Pablo Prgioni sidelined with a hand injury. Fisher practiced with Madrid during the preseason, so he is already familiar with head coach Ettore Messina’s style and most of his new teammates. Fisher returns to Madrid after playing there during the 2005-06 season. He appeared in seven Euroleague games with the Whites that season. Fisher started the current season with Bizkaia Bilbao Basket and averaged 7.3 points and 2 rebounds in three Spanish League games. Fisher has also played for Gran Canaria, Alicante, Murcia, Gijon, Zaragoza, Castellon and Valencia in Spain after a four-year college basketball career at the University of St. Louis. Last season Fisher helped Gran Canaria reach the Eurocup Quarterfinals.
