UNICAJA inks rookie center Garcia
Angel GarciaUnicaja added depth to its frontline with the signing of rookie big man Angel Garcia for the remainder of the season. Garcia (210, 22) arrives from the University of Memphis, where he averaged 6.1 points and 3 rebounds in eight games this season, his third at the school. A native of Puerto Rico, Garcia moved to Indiana for high school and chose to play college basketball at Memphis. Unicaja will be his first professional club. He has played at the international level for Puerto Rico and posted 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds at the Under-19 FIBA World Championships in 2007. He is expected to be formally introduced by Unicaja on Tuesday.
